Why is your support so essential to our success?
When the Latin American Association opened its doors to serve the Latino community of Atlanta 35 years ago, it did so with the goal of providing many immigrants with the means to become self-sufficient, prosperous members of the community. Today, the initial drive that set our work in motion is more momentous than ever before.
The decision to move to a new country and become an immigrant is seldom an easy one. It requires great courage and strength and demands enormous sacrifice. Most importantly, it holds one powerful purpose:
"A better life for you and those dearest to you."
Last year alone, nearly 60,000 individuals and their families sought assistance from the LAA. Many came to learn English; others became U.S. citizens or secured full-time employment, and children participated in fun and enriching activities in a positive environment—all through the many services offered by the LAA. These significant outcomes were possible thanks to the contributions of those who support us and our mission, those that relate to the struggles of immigrants in the pursuit of the American dream, and understand that the true greatness of this country is founded in its vast diversity and opportunity.
Today we present you with the opportunity to touch the lives of the thousands of Latinos that see in the LAA a partner in their success so that together we can strengthen our society. Your partnership with the Latin American Association will help us continue to serve our community and invest in a brighter future for us all.
