LAA's Housing Department assists Latino families to secure decent, affordable housing.
General Services include:
- Landlord-tenant mediation
This department serves as a mediator in problem relating to housing by advising alternatives and solutions to their clients. - Purchasing a House
The Latin American Association is an advising agency of certified housing according to the department of urban and housing development of the United States (HUD).
The counselors provide the following services:
- Pre-purchase: the counselor assists the client in the planning of a budget by offering information about credit, down payment, necessary loan requirements, and other diverse tips.
- Post-purchase: the counselor assists the client with information about loan refinancing, unpaid mortgages, necessary measures to avoid mortgage execution, among other services.

Equal opportunity housing assistance
Counselors help clients with possible solutions to problems with basic housing discrimination. The advisors also impart educational classes about the responsibilities and obligations of tenants.

The department assists its clients with finding an accessible home through different organizations.

Housing seminars
This program provides information about how to accomplish the American Dream in the purchasing of a home. The seminar includes the following themes: equal opportunity housing laws, credit and budget, tips on loans and costs, landlord-tenant problems, relationship between the real estate agent and the buyer, and the importance of insurance and housing inspection.
The seminar takes place the third Saturday of each month, Main Center
IDA: Individual Development Account
The objective of this program is to provide low-income families with the opportunity to be owners of a home; support the growth and revitalization of strategic communities; and develop the capacity of organizations to provide services to the community. This program stimulates people with low incomes to save in order to buy a home. The Latin American Association is the only organization in the state of Georgia that offers with program in Spanish.

"Camino a": Annual housing fair
"The Road to Your Home" is the only housing fair in Atlanta dedicated exclusively to the Latino community. The participants of this fair are informed about the process of buying a home, familiarized with the real estate agencies and acquainted with the responsibilities of the buyer and the landlord of a home. Representatives of real estate agencies, banks, insurance agencies, and others agencies participate in the fair.

Although the department of housing services does not provide direct legal assistance, we can give the necessary references based on needs. Our specialists do not participate in domestic visits, so the client should visit in person at the Latin American Association.
